tviA Tamil TV-station from Canada, called TVI (Tamil Vision Int.), which is a leading 24H Tamil TV-channel in Canada for a long time, is facing some problems and has been put up for sale. A majority in the management, which consists fo 9 shareholders, has decided to sell TVI. One of the shareholder has asked the other shareholders to run TVI under his administration, but this was not accepted by the others. The shareholder has now held a meeting for the public, where he has explained the situation and asked people to help saving TVI. A video from this meeting is available in this article.
Rumours says that TVI could be bought by CMR 101.3 FM, which is North America’s first South Asian owned and operated FM radio station.

When TTN Tamil TV was telecasting in Europe, TVI also broadcasted the programmes produced by TTN. After the closure of TTN in 2007, TVI still managed not to be dependent on programmes from a Tamil TV station from India - like for example Tamil One TV (Kalaignar TV programmes), TET (Raj TV programmes) and ATN Tamil (Jaya TV programmes) in Canada. After the launch of IBC Tamil TVin Europe, TVI is now telecasting some programmes from IBC Tamil TV. The management of IBC Tamil has plans of launching IBC Tamil TV in Canada, so it be interesting to see if they could be the buyer too - or Lebara.
