When Global Tamil Vision - also known as GTV, from UK, ceased satellite broadcasting for some months ago, it was thought that it was the end of GTV in Europe & Australia. Money problems and pressure from the big media players like Lebara Play and Lyca TV in Europe was said to be the main reason for the closure of GTV. Some of the presenters joined Lyca TV like the TV-licence-holder of GTV in UK, Sockalingam Karunalingam. But some GTV presenters didn't join another media, but stayed to see if they could bring GTV back on air. 

Recently GTV started to post short news clips from their Chennai studio on their Facebook page, which indicated that the channel could be back on air soon. And now they have succeeded in bringing the channel back as IPTV. It is possible to watch the live stream of GTV through their new website www.globaltamil.vision. Currently only test transmission going on with some well-known GTV programmes, News, songs etc. More details coming soon on Media Asia website. 

Update 10/8-16: Test transmission will end on Monday and regular transmission with GTV programmes will start again from that date.
