Later the station moved to Eutelsat Hotbird satellite, and now the station is available through Eurobird 9A satellite for listernes in UK, Europe, North Africa and Middle East. IBC Tamil Radio was an important Tamil media in the civil war time between the Sri Lankan government and Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and became the voice of the oppressed Tamils in Sri Lanka and their fight for freedom through LTTE.
IBC Tamil Radio is celebrating its birthday through special shows on both IBC Tamil TV and IBC Tamil Radio, where many presenters working for the station is participating at the same time. From next week the way of doing the different programmes on the radio will be changed in a new and fresh way to entertain the listeners.
