Star Jalsha launches in the UK on 22 Nov
Star Network's Bengali general entertainment channel Star Jalsha will be launching in the UK on Sky channel 808 on 22 November.
The channel's president, GM Kevin Vaz said, "Jalsha is synonymous with entertainment and celebration in Bengali and it is indeed a matter of great celebration for the Star Network to launch Star Jalsha in the UK - making it the first South Asian regional channel to be retailed in the Sky Entertainment pack."
'Sun TV Group's Kavery Kalanithi remains highest paid business woman'
Kavery Kalanithi of Sun TV Group has retained her position as country's top paid business woman although her pay package declined to Rs 57 crore in 2012, according to Fortune magazine.
Kavery Kalanithi, Executive Director of Sun TV NetworkBSE -3.25 % and wife of Kalanithi Maran, pay packet declined to Rs 57 crore in 2012 from around Rs 72 crore ($ 13.09 million) last year.
In the Fortune list of top 10 most paid business women, Peninsula LandBSE -4.20 % chairperson Urvi A Piramal bagged the second rank with an annual pay package of Rs 7.3 crore.

Sun TV Q2 net dips 16%, rev down 6%
Southern media conglomerate Sun TV Network Ltd. has seen a small fall in revenue, leading its standalone net profit to drop 15.80 per cent to Rs 1.52 billion in the fiscal-second quarter as expenses have grown 7 per cent.
The Kalanithi Maran-owned Sun TV, which recently acquired the Hyderabad IPL team for Rs 4.25 billion, had a net profit of Rs 1.8 billion in the second quarter of last year.
Hindi GECs celebrating Diwali
The celebration of Diwali on Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) begins on Friday. Star Plus, Zee TV, Sab and Life OK have lined up special programming to brighten up the festival of lights.
The channels have created Diwali celebrations within their fiction and non-fiction shows. Star Plus will air at 7.30 pm every day performances by popular actors from its serials. The celebrations feature song and dance performances, and some hilarious battles of wits between Star Parivar members.
Sri TV expanding telecasting
The Italy-based Sri Lankan channel, Sri TV, has expanded its telecasting in Europe and to Asia. The channel has telecasted since 2004 on Eutelsat Hotbird (13 degree East) on different frequencies for viewers in Europe and Middle East, and later it also began telecasting to Asia on Insat satellite (83 degree East), but the last was stopped again. The channel has now begun telecasting on Eutelsat 28A (28 degree East): 11655, V, SR 4600 and fec 5/6 - free-to-air, for UK-viewers. Sri TV has also started free-to-air on AsiaSat 5 (100.5 degree East): 3960, H, SR 27500 and fec 3/4 for viewers in Asia.
