Advertising fillip for Sun TV
After four straight quarters of revenue and net profit decline on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, Sun TV Network Ltd's December quarter financial performance was a positive surprise, beating Street expectations. Double-digit growth in advertising compared with single-digit growth in the first half of the fiscal year boosted performance. Subscription revenue rose 16%, reflecting the full impact of the Arasu deal.
Zee TV climbs to No. 2 for 1st time in 2013; Star Plus regains top spot in week 3
Zee TV has climbed to the second rank in the Hindi GEC (general entertainment channel) hierarchy for the first time in 2013 as some of its special shows performed strongly in week 3.
Star Plus regained its top position as Colors, living without its popular reality show Bigg Boss, slipped ground to take up the No. 3 spot.

Asianet to air 15th edition of film awards on Feb 2, 3
The Star Network's Malayalam GEC Asianet will be airing the 15th edition of Asianet Film Awards in two parts over two days on the weekend of February 2, 3 between 6.30 and 10 PM.
The channel has roped in a host of sponsors across verticals such as jewellery, financial services, consumer products, healthcare, sports, textiles and garments.

TTN Tamil Ozhi opening ceremony
TTN Tamil Ozhi has begun online webcasting of programmes on their websites www.ttntv.org and www.tvttn.tv. There has also been held an opening ceremony on their earlier studio in Paris on pongal day (14-01-2013). TRT Tamil Ozhi was renamed to TTN Tamil Ozhi on pongal day 2001 before the channel was shut down in 2007 due to political pressure from the Srilankan government and its oppression of Tamil medias in the world.
Vijay TV acquires Kadal satellite rights
Vijay TV has bagged the television rights of Mani Ratnam's Kadal. The television channel had signed a two-film deal with Gemini Film Circuit, and Kadal and Vijay's blockbuster Thuppakki have been acquired by the channel in the package deal. The price of television rights has not been revealed and it is believed that Vijay TV could have paid a huge amount, as there were good response for both Vijay's Thuppakki and Kadal.
