AIR gets 4.7 MHz spectrum for FM services
All India Radio has a spectrum of just 4.7 MHz exclusively reserved for its FM services and will need more spectrum to achieve its objective of setting up 385 new FM transmitters in the Twelfth Plan to increase the FM coverage to India's 90 per cent population.
Information and Broadcasting Ministry sources said that only 100 to 103.7 was presently reserved exclusively for FM broadcasting services by AIR.

Channel [V] sheds Bollywood music to become a youth GEC
For television viewers in India, nothing can get more ironic than this. On the very next day of the World's Music Day, Channel [V] announced its decision to completely do away with Bollywood music content.
Positioned as a youth channel, the Star network channel has decided to make the paradigm shift by discontinuing all music slots in its programming lineup effective 1 July.

Sun TV lines up Rs 200-cr capex Rs 260 cr for movie business
The Kalanithi Maran-run Sun TV Network Ltd has budgeted Rs 180-200 crore as capital expenditure (capex) for the current financial year, which will mostly be spent on programming operations and upgrading equipment. Besides, the company has lined up Rs 250-260 crore to acquire movies for distribution.

RBNL launches hybrid channel for intl markets, first stop is Canada
Reliance Broadcast Network (RBNL) has created a hybrid channel mixing entertainment content from Big Magic, business news from Bloomberg UTV and some of its owned televised awards and special shows.
The channel, Big Magic International, will launch in Canada and then move on to other international markets like the US, Middle East and Australia.
