Dish TV on Tuesday announced the launch of region- and language-specific packages for the southern market. The company is poised to add about 2.5 million subscribers during the year inching towards an installed base of 10 million.

"These packages are aimed at catering to the diversity in the southern market, with each State representing different patterns. Christened Tango Tamil, Magical Malayalam, Terrific Telugu and Ultimate Urdu, each of these packages caters to specific requirements of local population starting with a monthly subscription of Rs 125," said Mr Salil Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer of Dish TV.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr Kapoor said that one of the exclusive offerings is for Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan, wherein they will be able to have direct telecast of prayers from Mecca. Referring to the company financials, Mr Kapoor said, "the company is poised to close this financial year with revenues of about Rs 1,400 crore, up from Rs 1,050 crore registered last year."
