For the first time London Tamil Media Ltd., which is operating IBC Tamil Radio from London (UK), has published a poster on their Facebook page for IBC Tamil, that they are going to launch a TV-channel, called IBC Tamil TV, very soon... The channel is expected to start on satellite as London Tamil Media Ltd. has got a license to run a TV-channel on satellite from British media authority, Ofcom. It is still unknown if the channel will start on Eutelsat Hotbird (13 degree East), which was previously the most popular satellite platform for Tamil radio- and TV-channels in Europe - or on Eurobird 9A (9 degree East) where the Tamil TV-channels are available now. Currently IBC Tamil Radio is broadcasting on Eutelsat Hotbird satellite. 

IBC Tamil TV is expected to start in April as the company has sent an invitation for an opening ceremony on April 19th at 6 PM on ILEC Conference Center in London. It also seems to be that IBC Tamil is getting a new red-blue logo. The new logo was published on IBC Tamil Facebook page recently, but it got later removed.  

IBC Tamil has always wanted to start their own TV-channel. The idea was earlier presented on IBC in the years where only TRT Tamil TV and Deepam TV were available in Europe. In 2000 IBC Tamil was merged with TRT (Tamil Radio & Television) from Paris, and TRT Tamil TV changed the name to TTN Tamil TV on 14th January 2001. When TTN suddenly got closed down on satellite in 2007 and Tamil freedom struggle was brutally defeated by the Sri Lankan government in 2009, IBC Tamil got into management and financial problems and was then taken over by Sathy Media Ltd. In 2014 IBC Tamil was taken over by London Tamil Media Ltd. and is now run by the former presenters from IBC Tamil. 
The new management tried to work with Deepam TV, but it didn't succeed, so with the help from Lebara Mobile group, IBC Tamil is now launching their own TV-channel very soon. Currently TTN Tamil TV is restarted as IPTV from Paris, and only Deepam TV, GTV and Athavan TV (owned by Lyca Media) are operated from UK in Europe. It will be interesting to see if IBC Tamil can run a high quality TV-channel by Eelam Tamils in Europe as the other channels like TTN, Deepam TV, GTV and Athavan TV have failed so far.
