YuppTV, the world’s largest Over-The-Top (OTT) provider for Indian content, has launched YuppTV Bazaar, a marketplace for high-quality video content. YuppTV Bazaar was launched by the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Vidyasagar Rao and popular Bollywood Actor, Mr. Abhishek Bachchan on December 23 at JW Marriott in Juhu, Mumbai. With the launch of YuppTV Bazaar, YuppTV will now host curated premium video content across various genres such as Education, Short Films, Web Series, Movie Trailers and more.

The move will be music to the ears of independent video content creators, who often find it tough to monetize and market their premium content through traditional video-sharing portals, satellite and DTH platforms. Through assured quality supervision and a large native user base, YuppTV Bazaar will allow these entrepreneurs to showcase their high-quality videos on a trusted platform and reach out to an audience ranging in millions across the world through devices such as Smart TVs, smart phones, tablets & PCs.

Come 26 December, Zee Kannada is all set to bring back two of its popular weekend non-fiction shows namely Sa Re Ga Ma Pa season 11 and Weekend with Ramesh season 2.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Season 11 saw approximately 8500 people between the age group 18-80 taking part in the auditions, out of which 30 best singers were selected from Udupi, Shivamogga, Gadag, Mysore, Yadgir, Bellary, Bangalore and various other places of Karnataka.

Mentoring and channelising this talent will be the judges namely singer Vijay Prakash, composer Arjun Janya and Rajesh Krishnan. To add glamour and fun, Anushree will continue as the host of this season too.

Sun TV made a comeback after two weeks and secured the leadership position across genres in week 50 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India. Colors replaced the Hindi GEC leader Star Plus in the second slot, pushing the latter in the third position.

Sony Entertainment Television exited the top 10 list in week 50.

Sun TV garnered the first spot with 997647 (000Sums) followed by Colors in the second slot with 768239 (000Sums) and Star Plus in the third place with 759484 (000Sums).

The Parliament has been informed that eight permission holder companies have been refused to set up television channels because the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) declined security clearances to them.

These include Mahuaa Media (earlier known as Pearls Media), which has applied for five channels; Sai Prakash Telecommunication for one channel; Positive Television, which applied for six channels and two teleports; Maa TV Network for four channels; STV Enterprises Ltd for four channels and one teleport; Indira Television for one channel and one teleport; and Lemon Entertainment for two channels.

In addition, the case of Sun TV Network for 33 channels and two teleports is held up as the matter is sub judice. The company also owns FM radio channels.
