Shares of Sun TV Network plunged over 6 percent in early trade Tuesday to a low of Rs 318.70, as the company continues to face more trouble prompting investors to reduce exposure to the stock.
Investors' decision to pare exposure to Sun TV stock stems from the fact that the Madras High Court on Monday cancelled the anticipatory bail to former Union minister and DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran, giving him three days' time to surrender. The former Union minister has been allegedly charged with entering into a criminal conspiracy and causing huge financial loss to the exchequer.

In yet another move to diversify its presence in the market, direct-to-home (DTH) operator Dish TV has added nine new Malayalam channels in its bouquet for viewers in Kerala.
Dish TV now offers the maximum regional entertainment amongst all DTH players with a total of 27 channels and services on its platform in the state. The DTH player also has the widest overall content basket with a bouquet of 500+ channels and services.

Actor Shivarajkumar-starrer Om will be aired for the first time on the small screen on next Saturday on Udaya tv at 7pm. The popularity of the film has made the film makers to re-release the movie many times. The project which was also remade in Telugu as Omkaram has Prema in the female lead. Upendra is the director of the movie.

Come 22 August and Sab TV is all set to launch a comedy reality show called Comedy Superstar.

Slated to launch in the 10 pm slot, the show has roped in Sushmita Sen, Sonu Sood and Shekhar Suman as judges, who will search for India’s next comedy idol.

Produced by Pyramid Productions, Comedy Superstar will see aspiring comedians from different segments of the society battling it out to win the title.
