Zee Entertainment Enterprises’ newest Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) &TV will launch on Singapore’s StarHub platform.

From 16 September onwards, &TV will be available on StarHub TV’s Channel 165. To enable customers to view the channel on-the-go and across multiple devices, &TV will also be made available on StarHub Go, StarHub’s online streaming service.

At launch, viewers will be able to catch content such as Agent Raghav – Crime Branch, a fast paced crime-mystery thriller;Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!, a comedy television series, Deal or No Deal, a game-show that revolves around the opening of a set of numbered briefcases and Gangaa, an inspiring story of a child widow.

Zee TV has been launched in Canada's Jadoo TV on 1 September. The company has reached a subscriber licensing agreement for its flagship networks Zee TV Canada, Zee Punjabi and Zee Cinema with Jadoo TV.

Asia TV USA general manager Sameer Targe said, “Canada is one of the fastest growing markets for us. Our business has more than tripled in last two years. This move helps us to further consolidate our position in the market. Jadoo TV has been one of the pioneers in over the top play, which has been the fastest growing category of access.”

For the second time within a month, the Supreme Court has come to the rescue of the beleaguered Sun TV group owned by the Maran brothers.

Earlier on 26 July, the apex Court had permitted the FM channels associated with the group to take part in the e-auctions that commenced on 27 July.

The SC today stayed the attachment proceedings before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) Adjudicating Authority against Sun TV assets of the Maran brothers in the Aircel-Maxis case.

Doordarshan has earned Rs 23.2 crore from the 21st online e-auction of six slots to Indian television channels on its free-to-air DTH platform Freedish.

DD's target is to touch 112 television channels on Freedish over the next few months.

Against a reserve price of Rs 3.7 crore per slot for the online e-auction, DD earned as much as Rs 4.1 crore from Colors Rishtey, whereas Star Utsav got its slot for Rs 3.9 crore.

Doordarshan sources told Indiantelevision.com that the other slots went to Zee Anmol, Zee Sangam, Housefull Movies and B4U Music for Rs 3.8 crore each.
