The Lyca Media's Athavan TV in Europe failed to support Eelam Tamils during the international Tamil Eelam Heroes Remembrance Week. While the Lebara backed IBC Tamil TV and other channels like Deepam TV, GTV and TTN Tamil Oli telecasted programmes about the Tamil Eelam Heroes who died in the struggle for Tamil Eelam and also added additional Eelam related logos on the screen (like the Karthigai flower), Athavan TV didn't do so much during the week. On 27th November on Maarvirar Naal they telecasted a short programme about the Maarvirar Naal events from the different countries.

While the most Eelam people run media stations respected the Tamil Eelam Heroes Remembrance Week, Athavan TV failed to do so. It is a big disappointment and also shows where Athavan TV is regarding the Tamil Eelam struggle. Eelam Tamils and company owners have to think about this regarding advertising and supporting a Tamil media station like this.
