Cee (I) TV Entertainment Ltd., one of the major players in Tamil cinema, was involved in business ventures like production, distribution and marketing of TV serials, audio albums and feature films in India. It started its journey with the telecast of various television programs like Street Hawk, Knight Rider in Doordarshan, various children's programs in DD2 Metro channels, popular Tamil and Telugu serials in Sun TV and Gemini Television.

In March 2000 the directors of Cee (I) TV Entertainment Ltd. decided to launch Cee(I)TV Tamil as a part of Reminiscent TV Network (RTV Network) in UK on BSkyB DTH platform for UK viewers on September 1st 2000. RTV Network was a network of Southasian channels (Bangla TV, Asia 1 TV (Hindi), Anjuman TV (Urdu) etc., initially telecasting free-to-air, but the network got into financial problems long before the level of subscriptions made the platform viable, and all the channels were pulled off air over a period of a few weeks in early 2002.

The description of Cee(I)TV Tamil by RTV Network was:

Cee(I)TV Tamil went off-air on 22nd February 2002 when Reminiscent TV Network was closed down, but some weeks later the channel reappeared again on SKY Digital as a stand alone channel, and it was the only 24 H Tamil TV-channel available on SKY Digital for the UK viewers until now.

When the 1st 24H Tamil TV-service in Europe, TRT Tamil Ozhi from Paris, was merged with IBC Tamil Radio from London, some staff left TRT and started Dish Asia Network. They started cooperation with Cee(I)TV Tamil and later the channel was also brought to Eutelsat Hotbird (13 degree East) for European viewers.

Cee(I)TV Tamil was a popular channel telecasting mainly Jaya TV programmes, new movies, live programmes from London, news bulletins for Eelam Tamils from London etc. with presenters from UK.

The cooperation with Dish Asia Network (DAN) didn't last for long, and later the channel left Hotbird. For a period the channel also changed name to S4U (South For You), but later it changed back to "Cee(I)TV Tamil" logo, but kept the name "South For You" also. For a period it was also cooperating with Deepam TV from UK, where it was started on Hotbird again on the same frequency as Deepam TV and could be viewed with Deepam TV subscription. It also not continued for long, and the channel left Hotbird again. Later the channel has been on-off on Hotbird for some periods, and last time it was on Hotbird it was distributed by Ayngaran TV.

The channel did also stop the news bulletins, live programmes etc. from London, and continued only with live transmission of Jaya TV programmes from Chennai.

Even if Cee(I)TV Tamil has ceased broadcasting on SKY Digital today, it is still available in Europe in another form as "Jaya TV" as a part of Ayngaran TV Network in Europe on Eurobird 9A (9 degree East): 11938, V, SR 27500 and fec 3/4.

Cee(I)TV Tamil was the 3rd 24H Tamil TV-channel in Europe, and will be remembered for this.
