A light of Tamil Ozhi is emerging from Paris, - TTN Tamil Ozhi has launched as a web-TV channel on www.ttn.tv. Currently test-transmission is webcasted on their live TV-player on their website. TTN Tamil Ozhi was launched on Pongal day 2001, where it replaced the first Tamil TV-station in Europe, TRT Tamil Ozhi. It was running very successfull until 2007 where it was forced to cease broadcasting due to pressure from Sri Lankan government against media run by Eelam Tamils.

Tharisanam TV was brought to Europe from Australia to replace the TTN's space in Europe. But it also faced many problems and today only GTV (Global Tamil Vision) is broadcasting from London with some presenters from e.g. TTN, Vectone, NTT and Deepam TV. 

Currently there are only two Tamil TV-channels run by Eelam Tamils and showing programmes regarding Eelam Tamils (GTV and Deepam TV) and the other channels like Sun TV-channels, Ayngaran-Kalaignar TV, Ayngaran-Jaya TV and Vijay TV are showing only Tamil content from India, while DAN Yarl Oli is the mouthpiece of Sri Lankan government and their anti-Eelam propaganda arm. 

There has been made som attempts to launch another channel for Eelam Tamils like EuroTV Tamil from Swiss, Tamil24 TV from France etc., but it has not been successfull, so it is a good sign that TTN Tamil Ozhi is back from Paris again. Presenters from TTN are wellknown among Tamils in Europe, and many people also remember all the good programmes TTN has made in the past like Padalaiku Padalai, Nayandi Melam etc. and their effort to promote programmes by Eelam Tamils. 

The test-transmission of TTN Tamil Ozhi on their website will continue for a period, and keep an eye with Media Asia website for more news about the launch of TTN.
