Discovery Telugu round-the-clock
On the eve of Makara Sankranti, Discovery Channel announced that it will now be available 24-hours in Telugu. The channel had introduced a 6-hour Telugu feed in October 2010 and post an overwhelming response from the viewers in the state, it has been transformed into a 24-hour feed. The channel will now be available in four languages in India
Sun Direct gets 2 more transponders on Measat
Kalanithi Maran-promoted direct-to-home (DTH) company Sun Direct has entered in an agreement with Measat Satellite Systems for additional capacity.
Sun Direct, which earlier had two KU-band transponders on Measat, will add two more transponders, making Measat-3 the prime satellite for its DTH service.
Suvarna to air 14-hour final episode of reality show
Encouraged by the high GRPs it got by airing the grand finale of its previous two reality shows on the tribal theme over an entire day of a weekend, Star's Kannada offering Suvarna TV will be airing the final episode of Pyate Mandi Kadige Bandru (PMKB) for 14 hours tomorrow.
The grand finale episode will begin at 9 am and will run until 11 pm on 8 January.

Raj TV promotes Sanjay Banerjee as sales & marketing head
Raj Television Network Limited has promoted its associate vice president Sanjay Banerjee as national head, sales and marketing with effect from 5 January.
Banerjee would be reporting to director M Regunathan and would be responsible for sales operations at the national level.

Big FM announces TV awards first time in State
Movie and TV actors Dilip Raj and Aparna gave a sneak preview of the performances and acts that will be witnessed at the awards night of the Cocoraj Big Kannada 2010 TV Awards (BKTA).
An initiative by the Reliance Broadcast, the award ceremony will be an initiative to celebrate and honor individuals from Kannada television who have significantly contributed to take entertainment in Kannada television to new heights.
