A new Sinhala channel, called Ceylon TV, has started free-to-air on AsiaSat 5 (100.5 degree East): 3960, H, SR 30000 and fec 5/6. The channel is currently testing, and the official start is planned to be on 31st January. The channel is going to telecast different kind of programmes like news, sports, music, serials, documentaries, cartoons etc. The channel will also be available as online TV on its website.
