Another Tamil radio-station in Europe, ETR (European Tamil Radio) is moving from Eutelsat Hotbird (13 degree East) to Eurobird 9A (9 degree East): 11919, V, SR 27500 and fec 3/4 on 5th September.

On this frequency you can already find Tamil channels like Star Vijay TV, Angel TV, NLM TV, Rainbow TV and ILC Tamil (Uyirodai Radio).

This is not the first time ETR appears on Eurobird 9A satellite. For a short period the channel was available on both Hotbird and Eurobird satellites, but ended the transmission on Eurobird 9A until more Tamil channels were telecasting on Eurobird 9A. In recent time channels like GTV, Deepam TV and ILC Tamil Radio have shifted to Eurobird 9A. So in the future we may see the rest of the Tamil channels on Hotbird satellite (IBC Tamil Radio and TRT Tamil Olli Radio) on Eurobird 9A too.

Some of the Tamil radio-channels which were available on Hotbird satellite have ended satellite transmission totally and are only available as online radio-channels (London Tamil Radio, GTBC.FM and TBC London). In the future we may see more Tamil channels end satellite transmission to become only available online. Already some of the Sun Network's channels have left Eurobird 9A and are only available as IPTV in Europe.
