Finally setting to rest about when it would launch its OTT platform, Viacom18 launched its digital VOD platform VOOT. VOOT will be an advertising led VOD platform and will be available for free on iOS, Android and web.
In a major move aimed at curating the largest repository of kids' characters in the Indian OTT space, VOOT will house popular characters from across networks – from Nick characters like Dora, Spongebob, Motu Patlu to external popular characters like Chhota Bheem and Pokemon. In what it claims to be another first for an Indian OTT player, VOOT has launched with the largest repository of original content.

TV18 Broadcast-controlled ETV News Network is planning to launch three news channels in election-bound Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam. Incidentally, the channels will be launched under the News18 brand and not ETV, as has been the case until now. The channels are to be called News18 Tamil Nadu, News18 Kerala and News18 Assam/North East.
The network is awaiting regulatory clearances to launch the channels. “We are waiting for regulatory clearances to launch channels in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam. We plan to launch the channels in April,” ETV News Network head Jagdish Chandra told TelevisionPost.com. According to a source close to the development, the network was planning to launch the channels on 25 March. As per the revised plan, the channels are most likely to go on air in the first week of April, coinciding with the state assembly elections.

TV18 and Viacom18’s local and international distribution wing, IndiaCast announced a new EPG number for Colors UK on the DTH platform Sky. Colors UK will shift from EPG number 821 to number 786 with effect from 5 April. This move will make the channel visible on the first page of the International channels selection guide menu for Sky subscribers. Sky subscribers will be intimated about the new EPG number for Colors UK through an announcement on the network as well as via social media platforms.

Malayalam entertainment channel Mazhavil Manorama is set to launch season 3 of its non-fiction dance reality show D4 Dance. The 120 episode show will be telecast from 28 March 2016, Monday - Thursday at 8:30 pm.
The channel says that it is likely to dominate the non-fiction space with two mega launches, the Malayalam version of the world famous game show ‘Minute to Win It’ and Dancing Talent show D4 Dance.
Mazhavil Manorama has roped in Eastern Group as the title sponsor and Kalyan Silks is the powered by sponsor. The co-presenting sponsors are Oppo Camera Phone and Nestle Munch, while the first prize sponsor is Lazza Ice cream.
The show will be hosted by Pearly Mane and Actor - RJ Adil Ibrahim. D4Dance has been given the acronym D3. According to channel sources D3 will be three times bigger, better and larger than the previous seasons.

NDTV group's lifestyle channel NDTV Good Times has launched Tamil audio feed for the channel. The company is planning to expand its footprints in regional markets, starting with Tamil Nadu.
The channel will initially focus on delivering content from its existing library across food, travel, wellness, weddings, style and reality, showcasing properties like 'Band Baajaa Bride', 'Highway On My Plate', 'Chakh le India', 'Vicky Goes Veg', 'Bachelor's Kitchen', 'Luxe Interiors', 'Get The Look', 'No Big Deal', 'Heavy Petting', and 'Yogasutra'.
Arati Singh, channel head, NDTV Good Times said, "The channel with its focus on food, travel and fashion understands that the content is relevant to the Tamil audience. The launch of Tamil feed is in line with our expansion strategy, as we wanted more and more viewers to access and consume our content in their native language."
