Video streaming platform Hotstar and content delivery network Akamai Technologies Inc. today announced the renewal of their partnership to support Hotstar in delivering live sports content and the expected surge in viewership with the help of Akamai’s Intelligent Platform.
Hotstar which was launched in February last year claims 65 million downloads and a content portfolio that covers local and international drama, movies and sports. Live sports in particular has seen a huge surge in viewership on Hotstar, especially as audiences turn to mobile as the primary screen for cricket updates and streaming.

The VOD platform for Indian and regional content Spuul will now be available on Amazon’s Fire TV and Android TV as an application. The app can be downloaded from the Amazon store and Android Play stores. lt will also be available on other devices such as Kindle, Fire Stick and Fire Phone.

The Amazon Fire TV and Android TV apps are a step further in make streaming content a smooth, seamless experience for our viewers. At present, Indian television is going through a phase of super natural, mythical and larger than life shows. After the steaming success of many such shows, Beyond Dreams is set to air the all new Mahabharata inspired show Nagarjuna - ek Yodha on Life OK from 30 May at 900 PM.
The show replaces Piya Rangrez. The makers have high expectation from Nagarjuna - ek Yodha. Will this show work for the channel, fulfil these expectations – only time will reveal.

With an extensive portfolio of channels under it, Star India is all set to add one more feather to his hat. The network will launch its free to air (FTA) Hindi movies channel Star Utsav Movies on 28 May.
