A new 24 hour news channel in Kannada Public TV is all set for a launch on 26 January. The Chairperson and Managing Director of the channel will be HR Ranganath, whose name has been well known in journalistic circles. The channel has been promoted by Writemen Media Pvt Ltd, an independent company that has been floated to start this venture.

Idu Yaara aasthiyoo alla, Idu nimma TV(This is nobody's asset, This is Your Channel) will be the tagline of the new channel. Karnataka already has six news channels
