Bangalore-based spiritual, multi-lingual, satellite television channel Sri Sankara TV is gearing up to launch a new talent hunt show in search of the best bhajan group in south India.
The show - Bhajan Samraat - will premiere on 1 December and will be aired every Thursday-Friday at 7 pm.
"Bhajan Samraat is a big initiative and we take pride in introducing the concept of reality into the devotional space. We aim to give opportunities to the prodigies to showcase their talent," the channel said.
The show will have a variety of rounds based on different themes and the best team will bag the title of 'Bhajan Samraat' and a cash prize of Rs 1 million.

Both STAR India and Viacom 18 are preparing to launch a number of channels between next week and the year-end.
First up are two movie channels from STAR and one of these could be launched as soon as the end of next week, according to sources. These would cater to the action genre, in English and Hindi. STAR India is to also relaunch STAR One as STAR Desh by early next year.
Viacom 18 has readied its global comedy channel, Comedy Central, that airs original and syndicated content, for India launch. It is also slated to introduce a channel for teenagers and young adults under its Nickelodeon brand, whose flagship channel caters to children.

State broadcaster Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) has contracted Harris Broadcast Communications to provide it with DVB-T2 transmission equipment as the South Asian nation migrates from analogue to digital terrestrial television.
The contract involves a number of Harris Maxiva ULX UHF transmitters to support eight over the air digital channels for SLRC. Targeted DVB-T2 channel insertions in specific regions will also allow the network to retain local as well as national broadcasts.
"The Harris DVB-T2 platform will provide SLRC with a complete and simple solution to implement their digital TV services in the short term without the need for an immense investment in resources," said Said Bacho, vice president, sales and service, Middle East and South Asia, Harris Broadcast Communications.

What a star studded night it was! For the first time ever Zee Telugu hosted the 'Zee Telugu Kutumbam Awards 2011' to felicitate its most loved TV characters.
