Justice B Seshasayana Reddy of the AP high court on Thursday suspended the recent GO issued by the state government stopping advertisements to Sakshi Telugu daily and Sakshi TV.
The judge made this interim order after hearing two petitions filed by Jagati Publications which prints Sakshi and Indira Television, the operator of Sakshi TV. The government cited the guidelines as envisaged by the GO MS No 403, issued in 1992, in support of its decision to withhold advertisements to Sakshi. However, the decision of the state in this regard was contrary to the very guidelines, the judge said.
